Epic Combo! [Online]
Do you like to hammer away on Donkey Kong?, do you like to smash turtles in Super Mario Bros.?, well, this game combines both, but not as Mario, instead you play as a business man (Yay!, everyone’s hero). This is a pretty addicting game, you press the space bar to smash the turtles and obtain the highest score possible by doing so. The neat part is that the game gives you cash for the...

AuSable [Windows]
Amon26 again bringing us again a very dark/strage/moody game. AuSable is a spiritual followup to All Of Our Friends Are Dead. You play as a young woman lost in the ruins of a city surrounded by a not so friendly forest. I really love the bold style decision of Amon26, giving us something very different and exciting. I don’t reccomend this game if you’re feeling low, so be warned!,...

Kirby's Dream Land [Online]
Sunday will be our Nintendo day! (yeah, i’m a fan, and the NES and Game Boy lend themselves great for play them with a keyboard because of the simple 2 button controls), for today we have the first chapter of the awesome Kirby series. This is when Kirby wasn’t pink, and didn’t even gained the enemies abilities!, but it’s a great fun game. We’ll cover more of this...

Prince of Persia [Windows]
Agh, freaking Tumblr screwed up the queue anb i ended up deleting this post, so i’ll make it short before i implode. I love this game and so should you, the animation is fantastic for the time and the atmosphere and controls are great. If you have played the lastest games and/or seen the movie, give the original a chance, is really good. PS: most likely you’ll need DOSBox to run...

The Soul of Dracula [Windows]
There are a lot of Castlevania homebrew games, and not all of them are good, but this one is!. The Soul of Dracula is in essence a old school Castlevania game, like Castlevania III or Super Castlevania IV (minus the directional whip). The controls are great, you just feel in control and that’s what’s most important in any game, and there’s a joystick option so everything is...

Up Down Ready [Online]
Thanks to Michael Rose from indiegames.com who posted this fantastic game who won an award at Freeplay. Like the name says, Up Down Ready is a browser game that played with just the ↑ up and ↓ down arrows. It’s a very fast and challenging retro puzzle game, which gives you different things to do with the arrows on every level. The levels are crazy, c’mon, Hammer Time!, that’s...

Meat Boy [Online]
One of the most famous indie games, now coming to Xbox Live, WiiWare, Windows and Mac. If you haven’t played it (shame!), you’re a piece of meat (Meat Boy) who jumps (and bounces) around leaving everything bloody behind. The controls are great and altought playing with a keyboard is always a hassle, it’s tolerable. Waiting for the WiiWare release in November!. [Play]

Space-ninja [Online]
Although there’s no much ninja in this character, this game is pretty neat. Just shoot around and get to the end of the level. Gotta love the music. [Play] PS: I’ve read the first chapter of Iwata Asks: New Super Mario Bros Wii. It’s a very interesting conversation with Shigeru Miyamoto, give it a read.

Liferaft: Zero [Online]
If you liked Portal you’ll love this. It has a ver Portal-esque look and feel. Just pass the roms and try to collect the candy before ringing the bell. I really like the little details like the different uniform color of every test subject and that if you lose your spilled blood and guts stays there until you pass the stage (YAY!). [Play]

Dracula's Shadow [Windows]
I’ve been on a Castlevania mood lately, and Dracula’s Shadow is one of the best homebrews creations that i’ve run into.  Based on Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest, you have to collect 7 relics and destroy Dracula.  The game crashed on me, but i really like the interchangeable characters, controls and style. I’m looking forward to finish this adventure!. [Download]

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge...
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards is the first Leisure Suit Larry games, and one of the best. You can play it online with a mouse driven interface (i hated writing everything) for you to enjoy. What i really like about this site is that you can save your game (CTRL+5) so you can continue your naughty adventures later. [Play]

Super Mario Bros. X [Windows]
Super Mario Brothers.org is a site that hosts a lot of fan made Mario games. Their big game is Super Mario Bros X. which is a hybrid of various Mario games. You can play with Mario, Luigi, Toad, the Princess and Link!. The level design is pretty inventive and there are over 50 of them, so it should keep you busy for a while. If you have played a Mario game before you should feel right at home,...

Zelda II FPS [Online]
An FPS version of one of my favorites games, Zelda II. The game is changed a bit, towns are gone, magic is gone, leveling up is gone and there are shops in caves. After you beat the first dungeon the game is done. If anything this is an interesting twist in this sometimes overlooked classic and a great work done from the developer. [Play]

Alone in the Dark [Online]
This is the first survival horror game that i played and it scared the sh*t out of me when i was a kid. It has a really creepy atmosphere, and although the game and controls haven’t aged well, it’s wort checking out, online and free!. The online version is a little choppy and i don’t get any sound ( i’m using Chrome on OS X), but you can download it for a smoother...
