In this fun puzzle game you throw little spheres from a cannon, and you have to hit the squares with the same color as the sphere they have inside.

Insidia [Online]
Another great metroidvania we have here. You have to collect pieces of your ship to get out of this place.
You get upgrades what eventually give you a better jump distance, double jump and the ability to grab onto walls.
It reminded me a lot of Knytt, which is a good thing. I wish there would be more scenery variation, but it’s a nice game nonetheless.

Ninja Seki is a platformer reminiscent of older times; more specifically, Game Boy Color times.

Line Runner 2 [Online]
In this frenetic platformer on rails you have to guide this little magician dude across the trail of paint that you brush leaves by moving your mouse. In order to get a higher score you have to touch the rings and fruits that are across the screen (and avoid hazards). Grand Mystic Quest of Discovery [Online]
I love these retro looking games. This day we have a great C64 platform with tons of exploration. You have to find 4 spells and keys to doors in order to, well, get out of there?.
I have a soft spot for exploration games, i always enjoy them very much. I love getting new abilities that let me go through previously inaccesible areas.

Monster Mover [Online]
Monster Mover is a very fun puzzle game. You have to get the happy smiley faces figures (great use of words) to the portal, while driving the angry faces figures into the ground and breaking them.
I really like that if you lose the game starts right away, minimizing the frustration.

Duck Tales [Online]
Ah, The moon theme, one of the most covered and remixed 8-bit songs, and with good reason, it’s freaking good!.
Besides from the music, the game is pretty good too. Akin to Mega Man you can choose whatever stage you want from the beginning, opening up the game.
The platform aspect is pretty good and the jumping around with the cane gives the game a very unique flavor.

Spikes Tend to Kill You [Online]
A simple plaftormer that’s quite fun. You move a block and avoid spikes and red-ball-shooting-cannons.
It’s get pretty hard in the later stages, almost to the point of impossible, but it’s pretty satisfying and it never feels cheap. The musi is pretty great.
This is the kind of game that with a little more polish i’d love to see on the DSiWare or WiiWare.

I already featured this game, but there’s a new updated version of it.It’s much easier to shoot now and there are ui improvements in almost every aspect. The problem with Blizzard is that Warcraft and Starcraft are so popular that it’s old games get forgotten into oblivion.
It’s like Prince of Persia with attitude and a gun. I really liked this game as a kid, the atmosphere, the animations and the music are great. The controls are a bit stiff, i think i would rather play it with a controller, but i prefer the PC version to the SNES...

Ownage Burst [Online]
This game reminded me of Cabal, except that the screen scrolls, and you can’t destroy everything (also some Metal Slug).
It’s a pretty fun shooter, the animations are smooth and the action is right there. You can jump and hide behind cars to heal.

Magnetic Rush [Online]
I’ve never played a physics game like this one. You have to get the magnets to each goal by attracting them or repulsing them with the up and down keys.

Tuper Tario Tros. [Online]
Videogame mashups are great, and this is one of the best. By pressing Space you switch between Super Mario Bros and Tetris. You have to switch in order to get platforms and ways to advance on the level.
Remember to leave Mario in a safe spot, because the goombas keep moving when you’re on Tetris mode!.
The auto scrolling is a bit slow, but that doesn’t break the game.
